小川洋子さん著『密やかな結晶』英訳版

英・ブッカー賞の国際版である「ブッカー国際賞」（International Booker Prize ）が、2020年度の候補作を発表し、6作品の候補作の中に小川洋子さん著『密やかな結晶』の英訳版も入りました。

なお、受賞作の発表は5月19日の予定です。

小川洋子さんは、1962年岡山市生まれ。早稲田大学第一文学部文芸科卒業。1988年「揚羽蝶が壊れる時」で海燕新人文学賞。1991年『妊娠カレンダー』ので芥川賞、2004年『博士の愛した数式』で読売文学賞と本屋大賞、『ブラフマンの埋葬』で泉鏡花文学賞、2006年『ミーナの行進』で谷崎潤一郎賞、2013年『ことり』で「芸術選奨」文部科学大臣賞を受賞。2007年7月より芥川賞選考委員。

 
＜ブッカー賞およびブッカー国際賞について＞

ブッカー賞（Booker Prize）は、1969年にイギリスのブッカー・マコンネル社が創設した、世界的に権威のある文学賞で、その年に出版された長編小説の中から最も優れた作品に授与されます。

イギリス連邦およびアイルランド国籍の著者によって英語で書かれた作品を対象にしていましたが、2019年にアメリカ人の実業家の基金がスポンサーとなり、アメリカ国籍の著者によって英語で書かれた作品も対象となりました。

 
ブッカー国際賞は、2005年に創設。英語に翻訳されている著書を対象とし、原著者と英語への翻訳者に授与されます。
